4. Joel Parrish (Joel , William ) was born in 1746 in Spotsvylvania Co, VA. He died on 18 Jul 1819 in Greene County, GA.

Joel was a captain in the Revolution.

On August 8, 1778, Samuel Fuller deeded to Joel Parrish, 370 acres of land "for the love and affection of his daughter Rhoda Parrish, wife of Joel Parrish....." Samuel Huckaby witnessed this deed as did Joel Parrish witness the deed to Huckaby. William Johnson who married another Spivey girl and hence the uncle of Lydia and Rhoda witness both deeds.Recorded in DB-7, page 204 of Bute (Franklin) Co., NC deedbooks.

Joel married (1) Rhoda Fuller daughter of Samuel Fuller before 8 Aug 1778 in Granville County, NC. Rhoda died in Greene County, GA.

+ 18 M iv Nathaniel Parrish was born in 1795. He died about 1855.
+ 19 F v Sarah S. Parrish was born on 29 Aug 1792. She died on 13 Jul 1857.

Joel married (2) Rhoda Fuller daughter of Samuel Fuller before 8 Aug 1778 in Granville County, NC. Rhoda died in Greene County, GA.

They had the following children:

8. Timothy Parrish (Joel , William ) was born in Spotsylvania Co., VA.

Timothy married (1) Mary McMillan.

13. Henry Parrish (Joel , William ) was born in 1740 in Spottsvylvania Co., VA. He died on 26 Jun 1800 in Bullock Co., GA. He was buried on 28 Jun 1880.

Henry Parrish, the Revolutionary War ancestor of the Parrishes of South Georgia and Florida, was born in Spotsylvania, VA., about 1740, a son of Joel Parrish who died there testate in 1791. Henry Parrish, about 1770 married Mary Ann Monk, born 1748, and they had 10 children. Henry Parrish moved to New Hanover County, NC., but whether before or after marriage cannot be deternined.

He served three years in the NC Continental Line for which he was paid by the State of NC, and also granted bounty land there. Soon after the war he moved to Wilkes County, GA, where he was granted 200 acres of land and also in 1787 bought 92 acres more on the Ogeechee River, from a Benjamin Few ( the signer of the Constitution ?) a few years after he moved to Bulloch County where he lived until his death. His will dated June 23, 1800, was probated June 30, 1800, so he died between those dates. Executors of the will were his wife Mary Ann, John Daughtrey and Jacob Mincy. The will gave his estate to his wife for her lifetime, then to be divided between his 10 children.

Note--- Mrs. Florrie Hendry of Adel, was the first descendant of Henry Parrish to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution on the record of his service; she became a member in 1949, and is a member of the John Floyd Chapter, and her National Numberis 386789. She descends through the son, Henry.

Henry married Mary Ann Monk daughter of Melon Monk in 1770. Mary was born in 1748 in Edgefield Dist., South Carolina. She died after 1801 in Bullock Co., GA.

They had the following children:

+ 32 M ii Josiah Parrish was born in 1771. He died on 29 Nov 1846.
+ 33 M iii Hezekiah Parrish was born in 1776. He died in 1859.
+ 34 M iv Ezekiel Parrish was born in 1779. He died in 1833.
  35 F v Mary Parrish was born in 1781.
        Mary married (1) John Lawed on 3 Jul 1802 in Bulloch County, GA.
        Mary married (2) John Lawed on 3 Jul 1802 in Bulloch County, GA.
  36 F vi Mourning Parrish was born in 1793. She died in 1860/1870 in Emanuel Co., GA.

1850 Census says Mourning was born in 1793, while 1860 Census says 1794.

+ 37 M vii Ansel Parrish was born on 16 Nov 1789. He died on 28 Jul 1865.

+ 39 M ix Joel Parrish was born in 1787. He died in 1841.
+ 40 M x Henry Parrish was born on 27 Jan 1786. He died on 28 May 1831.
